Standards & Care

Standards and Care

Camp Kawaga is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). Earning this accreditation is not automatic and requires all of our operations to be in compliance with their standards. Once camp achieves full membership, ACA representatives visit every four years.

Kawaga voluntarily adheres to more than 400 separate operational standards covering health and safety, leadership food service and maintenance, staffing, programing and administration.

Healthcare

Our infirmary (Crow’s Nest) operates as a primary care clinic for the camp. Our medical team which includes 3 rotating physicians, and 3 full time nurses have access to every camper’s health record and is trained and equipped to deal with any health issue.

Crow’s Nest is fully stocked with medical supplies to aid with everything from minor abrasions to more serious conditions. We also have a defibrillator on site.

If your medical staff feels a camper needs treatment we are unable to provide, we have excellent medical facilities at Marshfield Clinic and Howard Young Medical Center just 5 miles away in Woodruff, WI.

We have special privileges at each to eliminate wait time in case of an emergency.
