4th of July was fantastic once again. Great ski show and fireworks and of course lots of snacks, candy and Sno Cones for the boys! We saw the lovely ladies of Agawak and had a wonderful time. Friday after some extra sleep following the late night, we had Clubs and some team tryouts during another BEAUTIFUL day of 80 degree temperatures and clear blue skies.
Friday night, we had the Gold Rush – PIRATE themed… ARRRR!!! The campers were running around searching for gold and buried treasure while the Pirates tried to steal their gold away. When captured, the campers had to do various events to get back in the game, such as “walk the plank” or find gold hidden in the waterfront, or various tasks. The campers were running everywhere, earned tons and tons of Kawaga Kash, and had a great ol’ time.
All day yesterday was competition with Ojibwa. On the games side, it was a rough morning, but a much better afternoon overall for our age groups. In the end though, we were very proud of our braves for their outstanding heart, hustle and sportsmanship throughout the competition. It was a very fun competition, well fought, and the boys’ spirit and enthusiasm was fantastic. Some highlights included an amazing Junior A newcomb game that went into the 3rd game and extra points. Adam Glickman, Noah Herzog, Jake Wolf and others combined to pull out a great victory. Both the Senior A and B softball teams had awesome victories. The A game was highlighted by a mammoth HR by Max Goldstein and great fielding by Jacob Karsch. Overall a great and full day of fun competition.
We are now zooming into the final week. As I write this, the campers are finding out their Kawaga Spectacular teams for the next 3 days. You will see lots of college T-shirts and banners in the pictures, and we promise that we will be reporting updates all week. This is the highlight of the summer for many of the boys, and we cannot wait to get rolling!!
More to come…
