4th of July – another beautiful day here on the Shores. We are loving it. Seniors were all fired up this morning for their chance to beat the staff in 16″ softball. There was a ton of action on 2 fields as Senior A and B teams took to the field.  There were 2 great close games as the Seniors refused to give in to the counselors.  We had some entertainment for the younger boys on D2, including relay races between innings and our new Slip n’ Slide which we broke out for the first time for this occasion.  Great time had by all, and 2 great games.

In the B game, the seniors went up 2-1 early before the Counselors mounted a come back. However in the last inning (7th), Joey Reinsdorf had a huge hit which drove in 2 runs for the lead and the win!! Great victory.  In the A game, it was back and forth the whole game. Seniors went up 1-0 in the first on a run by Captain Koretz. Counselors went into the lead and stayed ahead into the 7th inning. Up 6-3, the Seniors mounted an amazing comeback and tied the game 6-6 with Sap scoring the tying run on a big hit by Jack Rosenberg.  The seniors had a chance for the win in both the 7th and 8th inning, but could not get a run across. The staff put up a big 6 runs on a couple of errors in the 9th inning to seal the victory for the staff, but it was a great game and fun was had by all.  We are having some fun outside ahead of heading to town for the Bats and fireworks tonight.

More to come…
