We are very excited and proud to announce that long time camper and counselor, Jay Weisman, is now a full-time member of our Camp Kawaga Team. Jeff Kaplan will continue in his role as Assistant Director, and working with our CITs and Junior Counselors in developing our great Kawaga staff. Along with Kappy, starting October 1st, Jay began working alongside Matt & Dewey on a year round basis for Camp Kawaga.
During the offseason, Jay will have several responsibilities including assisting Matt & Dewey with camper recruiting and staff hiring. Jay will be reaching out to prospective Kawaga Parents and Campers, as he follows up on communications and home visits. Additionally, Jay will take a large role with our Alumni Relations, focusing on both Alumni communications and assisting in the planning and organization of various Alumni Events, including Kawaga’s 100th year celebrations coming soon in 2014.
For those of you that do not know Jay, he has been an integral part of Camp Kawaga these past few years and an invaluable staff member. Jay has been intimately involved in all parts of Kawaga – as Editor of the Annual Pineneedle, the Director of Operations and this past summer as our Program Director. Jay has demonstrated a terrific ability to work well with others and communicate with our staff and camp families, and was a natural hire as a year round member of Kawaga’s staff.
We congratulate Jay on his new position and growing role at Kawaga. We are all very excited to have Jay on board full-time, and hope he will continue to be a part of Kawaga for years to come!!
